What's With Wally?

Warblings from Wally David

Whats With Wally? I’ll tell you.

I’m Wally David.  Whats with me? I have a lot to say and share with the world. Some things about me:

  • My “day job” is in the IT field. I work for a very large payroll and HR services company based in Rochester, NY. I’ve been in the computer business for nearly 20 years in one form or another.
  • In my spare time, I play the drums in a band called Route 49 (www.route49rock.com). I’m the webmaster as well.  Route 49 plays a nice mix of blues, southern rock and an assortment of other blues rock cover tunes.
  • I have a background in photography, with a degree in photographic illustration from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). I worked as a newspaper photographer in the mid 80’s to early 90’s. Recently, I purchased a Canon Digital SLR and am getting back into photography.  I’m going to be doing band and event photography (I’ve already started), as well as, nature and landscape photography.  If you need a photographer in the Rochester, NY area, let me know. I will be posting photographs here in the future.
  • I’ve gotten into an online game called Second Life more recently. I got into building motorcycles and cars in the game and have a store. People pay for what I build in the game. One can actually convert virtual money from the game into actual US greenbacks. I’ve built over 60 bikes and cars and have my own store. Crazy huh?
  • My wife Sara and I recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary.  We have to wonderful sons: Mike is a sophomore college and Matt is a sophomore in high school.

So…What am I going to write about and what do I hope to achieve?

  • I will share my observations about life, culture, sports and whatever else crosses my mind.  Why should you care? Too soon to tell, but I hope to entertain you, make you laugh and maybe even learn something along the way.
  • I have come across some interesting tidbits of information about technology and photography as I’ve made  my way through life.  I plan to share some of the things I’ve learned with you.
  • My enjoyment of the game Second Life has led to many hours of fun and building motorcycles and cars. I have also met some interesting people that come through my shop’s door.  I would like to share my experiences in the game with you, as well as, promote my in-world business.
  • I would also like to make some money at this “blogging thing”, by offering eBooks on various topics that I will write about, as well as, supplying content to people and companies that need my services.
  • I’ll probably think of more eventually.
